Jessie is a licensed therapist who provides inclusive, compassionate, and client-centered therapy for individuals of all ages, with a special focus on LGBTQIA+ clients, children and teens. Her approach is grounded in warmth, authenticity, and a deep respect for each client’s lived experience. She believes in the importance of interpersonal relationships and connections and her work is grounded in the establishment of trust and rapport between herself and her clients.
With experience supporting youth and families, Jessie specializes in helping children and adolescents build emotional resilience, navigate identity development, and cope with anxiety, depression, and life transitions. She creates a safe, engaging environment where young clients feel heard and understood—whether through talk therapy, play-based techniques, or creative expression.
Jessie is also passionate about affirming LGBTQIA+ identities and offers a welcoming, judgment-free space for clients exploring gender, sexuality, and identity. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, she is committed to supporting individuals and families with sensitivity, respect, and cultural competence.
In addition, Jessie takes a body-positive, Health at Every Size (HAES)-informed approach to therapy, helping clients heal their relationship with their bodies, challenge harmful societal messages, and build self-worth from within.
Jessie has a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work. She has previously worked as a school social worker within the Traverse City Area Public Schools system in both elementary and high school settings, though she is happy to see individuals of any age.
Drawing from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Care, Mindfulness, and Play Therapy, Jessie tailors each session to meet the client’s unique needs, strengths, and goals.
In her free time, Jessie likes to be with her family, friends and pets: Phil, Eugene, and Ida. She also enjoys caring for the many houseplants she’s acquired over the past few years and reading historical non-fiction.
