Lauren Smith, LMSW

Lauren specializes in supporting families and individuals through some of life’s most challenging experiences. Her work centers on empowering families by fostering healthy dynamics and equipping them with the tools they need to support their children’s emotional and behavioral well-being. She works closely with parents, teaching parenting strategies, family life skills, and child development, while also helping them develop self-sufficiency skills to strengthen their role as primary caregivers. With her experience supporting children with moderate to severe mental health disorders, those in the child welfare system, and children who have experienced trauma, it is her belief that positive whole family dynamics are key to healing and growth, and she strives to create a space where families can reconnect, communicate, and thrive. Lauren is particularly passionate about perinatal mental health and have specialized experience in helping women navigate the emotional challenges of pregnancy and postpartum. This includes supporting those experiencing postpartum depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, grief, and loss of identity. She also have experience working with adult survivors of domestic or sexual violence, drawing from evidence-based research on the mental and physiological effects of trauma to guide healing and recovery. Her approach is empathetic, strength-based, and focused on creating a non-judgmental, supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences and make meaningful progress toward their goals.
